In his tobacco presentation entitled "Inside the Darkside", Dr. DeNoble gives an insider's view into the tobacco industry's suppression of nicotine addiction research. Dr. DeNoble uses his own laboratory experience within the Philip Morris Tobacco Research Center as a backdrop to skillfully pull together the science, history and biology of nicotine addiction in a way that is both educational and entertaining.
His educational program on drug addiction is entitled "Drug Addiction - It’s All in Your Brain". Groundbreaking discoveries about the brain have revolutionized our understanding of drug addiction. This program reviews these discoveries and provides information about the science of the disease including the many harmful consequences of drug abuse. In addition, the neuroanatomical and neurochemical mechanisms of drug addiction and how the most frequently used addictive drugs produce changes the brain is discussed.
Both programs were originally developed for youth education however, as a result of growing interest among other groups, the programs were expanded to include general community groups, universities and health care professionals.
